Couple-mode analysis can describe the output field of the phase-locked diode-laser arrays (DLA) in an external cavity. The eigenvalue equation for a phase-locked DLA has been deduced, the corresponding eigenvalues and eigenvectors have been get analytically. Furthermore, the near-field distributions and the far-field patterns are presented for various super-mode, when the elements influence are individually taken into account.
