The optical nature of optial channal is of great importance to the airborne laser depth sounding.The scattering and absorption of laser within the media resulting in the difficulty of the signal detecting are described by analysing the absorption and scattering of the media,and the passage characteristic of laser transmission within the optical channal and the effect of it on the airborne laser depth sounding are elaborated.
