Methods used in laser pedestal measurement are discussed. The difference between autocorrelation and triplecorrelation methods are studied both theoretically and experimentally. The results showed that the autocorrelation method is limited in the contrast ratio measurement of laser pulse becuase of the light scattering by the second harmonic generation crystal.
