Study of organic silicon resin protective coating with high laser damage threshold for KDP crystal

Abstract
In this paper, (CH3O)3Si-[O-Si(CH3)(OH)-]m-[O-Si(CH3)(OC2H5)]m-O-Si(OCH3)3, one of the organic silicon resins named SJ-70, hasbeen coated on KDP crystal as a protective coating by spin or dip method. Film structures andcoating performances were measured and discussed. The thresholds of SJ-70 cured coating arein the range of 6-8 J/cm2, for Ins pulse width and 1. 064μm wavelength. The coated KDPcrystals keep good transparent for more than 70 days under the conditions of 25~35 ℃ and 65%~95% humidity.
