摘要
Abstract
We propose a new method to compress fundamental soliton pulses in the normaldispersive optical fibers through cross- phase- modulation. With the help of numerical simula tion, we show how a fiber acts as a distributed compressor due to the combined effects of group-velocity dispersion, self-Phase-modulation and cross-phase-modulation of the two Pulses. The optimum fiber length for optimum compression is obtained for the given pulses and fiber Parameters.
