摘要
激光诱导液晶指向矢转动的物理过程由欧拉-拉格朗日方程描述,激光在液晶中的传输则由麦克斯韦方程描述,在几何光学近似条件下可以利用几何光学光线传输方程来描述。通过对这对耦合的微分方程组进行数值求解,研究了激光诱导液晶指向矢转动的物理机制,讨论了激光诱导液晶指向矢转动的阈值问题,比较了不同液晶盒几何参数与不同入射激光初始偏振状态对液晶指向矢转动的影响。此外,还研究了强激光在液晶中传输时指向矢转动对激光偏振态的影响。
Abstract
The laser induced liquid crystal molecular director reorientation are described by Euler-Lagrange equation, while the electromagnetic wave propagation in liquid crystal are described by Maxwell equation. By numerically resolving these equations, the mechanism of the laser induced director reorientation was studied. The threshold issue associated with the geometric parameters of the liquid crystal cell was discussed. It was indicated that the initial polarization state of incident laser took a role in the director reorientation. Then the effect of director reorientation on the polarization state of the light were compared, which is meaningful in the comprehension of the role played by the laser induced director reorientation in liquid crystal nonlinearities.
