锶原子多普勒冷却温度的测量
Measurement of the Temperature of Strontium Atoms by Doppler Cooling
摘要
在实现基于碱土金属锶原子(5s2)1S0→(5s5p)1P1的多普勒冷却实验基础上,分别采用短程飞行时间法和原子吸收膨胀法,测量了锶原子同位素88Sr(玻色子)冷原子团温度约为9 mK,87Sr(费米子)冷原子团的温度在2 mK左右,并结合多普勒冷却极限温度理论对实验结果进行了分析。为下一步1S0→3P1的窄线宽冷却提供了良好的基础。
Abstract
After the realization of Doppler cooling based on (5s2)1S0→(5s5p)1P1 in alkaline-earth metal strontium, the temperature of two isotopes of strontium which is 88Sr(bosons)and 87Sr (fermions) are measured using time of flight and expansion measurement. And the result of the two isotopes are~9 mK (88Sr) and~2 mK (87Sr). According the theory of Doppler cooling limited temperature, the experimental results are analyzed. This can be the well basis for the next step, 1S0→3P1 narrow line cooling of strontium.
