摘要
Abstract
Research and development of fiber lasers has attracted significant attention in last several years because of its unique advantages over other laser systems. 2-micron fiber lasers is a new research topic, which exhibits a variety of applications including materials processing, medical applications, laser remote sensing, and direct energy source for defense. Recently, we developed a new type of highly Tm-doped glass fiber with extremely high efficiency and high gain per unit length. In this presentation, I will summarize our recent demonstration of 2 micron Q-switched single frequency fiber lasers and mode-locked 2 micron fiber lasers and research on high power new band fiber laser and its application.
