100 Gbit/s WDM传输系统中PMD抑制方法的研究
Research on PMD mitigation in 100 Gbit/s WDM transmission systems
摘要
随着WDM(波分复用)技术的快速发展,100 Gbit/s速率的通信系统即将投入商用,通信光纤中的PMD(偏振模色散)的影响愈加突出。文章在阐述PMD形成原因及抑制PMD必要性的基础上,介绍了6种抑制PMD的方案并对其分类和应用原理进行分析研究,指出了PMD补偿、新型的稳定调制码型和FEC(前向纠错)编码等3种方案在技术上具备良好的应用前景。
Abstract
With the rapid development of Wave Division Multiplexing (WDM) transmissions, 100 Gbit/s communication systems are about to be brought into commercial operations, so the Polarization Mode Dispersion (PMD) effects in optical fibers will become more prominent. This paper first describes the causes of PMD generation and the necessity of its mitigation. Then it introduces six PMD mitigation schemes and analyzes and studies their classifications and application principles. Finally, it points out that three of them: PMD compensation, new stable modulation codes and Forward Error Correction (FEC) have good application prospects in terms of technological performances.
