蓝相II液晶态结构及其光学特性
Structure and optical profile of blue phase II
摘要
研究了蓝相II态液晶的双螺旋结构及特点,分析了缺陷与双螺旋结构的关系,解释了产生缺陷位置的原因.介绍了传统制作蓝相II态液晶晶格模型的方法,提出了一种制作蓝相II态液晶晶格模型的新方法,这种方法可以做出全空间的液晶分子指向矢.利用做出的新模型,采用时域有限差分法(FDTD)进行仿真模拟光学特性,当光源采用圆偏振时,模拟出的结果表明,左旋圆偏振和右旋圆偏振光的透过率有着显著的差别,与蓝相液晶螺旋方向相同的圆偏振光在特定的波长范围会被大量反射.
Abstract
The structure and characteristics of double-twist structure of blue phase liquid crystal (BPLC) II are researched,the relationship between the defects and the structure of double-twist cylinder is analyzed,and the reason that produces the position of defects is explained.The traditional method which makes the model of BPLC II structure is described,and a new method to make the model of the BPLC II structure is proposed,the molecular arrangement in the whole space can be built.The optical characteristics are simulated using finite difference time domain method and the BPLCD II structure.When the circularly polarized light is used,the result showed that the transmissions of the left-handed and right-handed circularly polarized light are obviously different;the circularly polarized light which is same to the twist direction of BPLC is reflected in certain wavelength range.
