SOA全光波长转换技术研究及其发展
Research on SOA-Based All-Optical Wavelength Conversion Technology and Its Development
摘要
全光波长转换技术在波分复用网络中有着非常重要的作用, 尤其是基于SOA(半导体光放大器)的全光波长转换技术, 已有较为成熟的理论研究, 但其性能上仍存在很多不足。文章对基于SOA的全光波长转换技术的原理和性能特点进行了分析和比较。由最基础的不同类型的基于SOA的全光波长转换技术扩展到改进的技术方案, 对不同结构和类型的全光波长转换技术进行了特性分析和比较, 并对它们的应用前景和发展方向进行了展望。结果表明, 通过改变SOA的增益特性或者改变系统结构, 均能在不同方面改善全光波长转换技术的性能参数。
Abstract
The all-optical wavelength conversion technology plays an important role in WDM networks and there have been mature theoretical study on the Semiconductor Optical Amplifier (SOA)-based all-optical wavelength conversion technology. However, it still has a lot of deficiencies in its performance. This paper analyzes and compares the principles and performances of SOA-based all-optical wavelength conversion technologies in different structures and types from the most basic ones to the improved technical schemes and looks into their application prospect and development orientations. The results show that we can improve the performance parameters of all-optical wavelength conversion technology in different aspects by changing the gain characteristic of SOA or system structures.
