Abstract
In this paper, the basic conceptions, technical advantages and application status of microwave photonic technology were introduced in detail. The applications of microwave photonic system in the three typical fields of radar, electronic warfare and communication were presented. The relationship between the characteristics of microwave optical transmission and processing technology and the performance of electronic information system was analyzed comprehensively. To overcome the bottlenecks of traditional electronic system, the solution based on microwave photonic technology was proposed, which will be a very useful guide for the future development and application of microwave photonics.
