聚氧乙烯脱水山梨醇单油酸酯对聚合物网络液晶电光特性的影响

摘要
聚合物网络液晶一般有较大的阈值电压和饱和电压,有明显的迟滞效应,所以降低阈值电压与饱和电压,降低迟滞效应和增加对比度是研究的主要目标。表面活性剂的使用可以有效减小聚合物网络与液晶的相互作用,从而降低聚合物网络对液晶分子的锚定能,来达到降低阈值电压与饱和电压的效果。本文通过在聚合物网络液晶里掺入不同比例的表面活性剂(聚氧乙烯脱水山梨醇单油酸酯:TWEEN 80),来研究表面活性剂对聚合物网络液晶电光特性的影响。实验结果表明:在聚合物网络液晶里增加该种表面活性剂的比例达到10∶1时,阈值电压可以降低11倍以上,饱和电压降低5倍以上,对比度有一个大的提高,迟滞效应也得到很大的改善。本文结果对提高PNLC的电光特性有重要的指导意义。
Abstract
In order to reduce the high threshold and saturation voltage, obvious hysteresis effect and increase the contrast ratio of Polymer Network Liquid Crystal (PNLC), the surfactants are used to solve the above problems. The surfactant can reduce the interaction between the liquid crystal and polymer network. As a result, the anchoring energy of the polymer network is reduced, thus the lower threshold and saturation voltage of PNLC can be obtained. In this study, the different mass fractions of surfactant (Polyoxyethylene Sorbitan Monooleate: TWEEN 80) were added into PNLC, and the electro-optical properties of PNLC were investigated. The experimental results show that if the mass fraction of PNLC and surfactant is 10∶1, the threshold voltage can be reduced by more than 11 times, and the saturation voltage is reduced by more than 5 times. Moreover, the contrast ratio is obviously improved, and the hysteresis effect is ameliorated as well. This work has an important guiding significance for the study to improve the electro-optical properties of PNLC devices.
