一种Polar码删余方法及其在图像传输中的应用

文章提出一种基于权值的Polar码删余方法,并将其应用于高斯信道下的图像传输中。该方法对图像灰度值权值相同的比特进行Polar码编码,并根据图像灰度值权值的大小确定删余位数,权值大的二进制序列编码后删余位数少,权值小的删余位数多。用峰值信噪比(PSNR)来衡量重建图像的性能,仿真结果表明,在信噪比为6 dB的高斯信道下的图像传输中,所提方法得到的PSNR相比于固定Polar码删余法提高了18 dB,相比于随机删余法提高了11 dB。信噪比越大,改进的删余Polar码的性能优于固定删余码率的Polar码和随机删余法的性能越明显。
Abstract
In this paper, a weight based Polar code puncturing method is proposed and applied to the image transmission under the Gaussian channel. This method encodes with the same weighted bit of the gray value of the image, and determines the number of deleted bits according to the weighted value of the gray value of the image. The principle indicates that bigger weight means less number of punctured bits and smaller weight means larger number of punctured bits. Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) is used to evaluate the performance of reconstructed images. The simulation results show that under the image transmission of Gaussian channel with signal to noise ratio of 6 dB, the PSNR for the improved punctured Polar codes is 18 dB higher than the Polar code with fixed punctured code rate. The performance improvement is more significant at the condition of larger signal to noise ratio.
