摘要
基于光纤衰减的基本定义,提出了更为精准的熔接替代法来进行掺镱光纤吸收光谱的测试。实验采用常规剪断法和熔接替代法两种方法对多种掺镱光纤样品的吸收谱形进行了测定与分析。实验结果表明,熔接替代法可以有效减少因掺镱光纤长度过长而引入的测试失真,较为准确地测量出975 nm和915 nm处的吸收峰值,且随着测试长度的缩短,上述两个波段上吸收的比值逐渐增大并接近理论上限3倍关系,为掺镱光纤吸收系数的标准化测试提供了重要依据。
Abstract
In this paper, the splicing replacement method was demonstrated to measure the absorption coefficient of ytterbium doped fiber more accurately. The absorption spectra of several ytterbium doped fiber samples were measured by cut back method and splicing replacement method, respectively. The results showed that by using the splicing replacement method, the measurement distortion due to improper fiber length was greatly reduced. The peak absorption coefficients at 975 nm and 915 nm were measured more accurately. When the length was further reduced, it showed nearly 3 times relationship at the two wavelengths above, which was the upper limit in theory. This work provides an effective method to standardize the ytterbium doped fiber absorption coefficient measurement.
