液晶消色差偏振光开关
Liquid crystal achromatic polarized switch
摘要
为了实现全可见光波长范围内的偏振光偏振方向正交变化的可控性, 我们研究了由液晶盒构成的消色差偏振光开关。研究了液晶波片的偏光旋转特性及响应特性, 并与传统波片的偏光旋转效果进行对比, 然后参考组合式消色差波片的设计, 设计出了由多片液晶盒构成的消色差偏振光开关。使用Tech Wiz LCD 1D软件对两种结构的消色差偏振光开关进行模拟, 得到其偏光旋转效果以及响应特性, 并得到不同波长偏振光的对比度。模拟结果表明:本文中提出的两种结构的液晶消色差偏振光开关可以实现在较大波长范围内的偏振光方向的正交变化, 同时出射偏振光具有较高的偏振度。在20 V驱动电压下, 偏振旋转的上升时间0.3 ms, 下降时间4.5 ms, 符合实际器件中对于消色差偏振光开关的响应速度要求。
Abstract
In order to realize the controllability of orthogonal change of polarization direction of the polarized light in the whole visible wavelength range, we research the achromatic polarized light switch composed of liquid crystal wave-plates. The polarization rotation and response characteristics of a liquid crystal wave-plate are analyzed synthetically, and compared with the polarizing effect of the traditional wave-plate. Then, the achromatic polarized light switch is designed by referring to the design of the combined achromatic wave-plates. Two polarized light switches with two different structures are simulated by Tech Wiz LCD 1D software, and its polarization rotation effect and response characteristics were obtained. The contrast ratio of different wavelength polarized light was calculated. The simulation results show that the liquid crystal achromatic polarized light switches showed in this paper can realize the orthogonal change of the polarized direction of polarized light in the wide visible wavelength, and the polarized light has a high degree of polarization. Under the 20 V driving voltage, the turn on time is 0.3 ms and the turn off time is 4.5 ms for the polarization rotation switch. The results are fit for the requirements for achromatic polarized light switch.
